Lisa Zhao (Ja-ow) is a Chinese author-illustrator based in New York. She received her BFA in Illustration from the School of Visual Arts in 2025.

Lisa dedicates herself to storytelling that sparks curiosity and connection. She primarily works with traditional mediums like gouache and watercolor on paper.

When not creating, Lisa can be found teaching at a children’s art studio in Hoboken. She also enjoys collecting beautiful tableware and tiny mouse toys.

Lisa is currently seeking representation and work opportunities.
